Sam plummeted/fell/crashed to the ground with a loud/sharp/painful thud/sound/crash.

Sam was experiencing a little down. He wished to have a new pal to play with. One day, while he was playing in the yard, he noticed something different. It was a little creature with colorful scales. Sam carefully went up to the creature and asked, "Hello! What's your identity?" The creature laughed and answered Sam, "My name is Lily!" And so, Sam made a new mate. They spent the rest of the day playing together.
